A default WordPress installation provides all the basis functions you need for your site or blog, but the real power of WordPress is found in the hundreds of available plugins. These plugins extend the functionality to pretty much anything you need. Need a forum, or perhaps a membership site? No problem. Want lots of videos on your site, or perhaps photo galleries? Again, not a problem with the WordPress plugin community.
But there are also a standard set of plugins that I install on almost every WordPress site I set up. These plugins add to your WordPress site what I consider required functionality.
