Joomla and WordPress Training and Support
Content Management Systems (CMS) — they promise you freedom from web designers and the power to manage your site all by yourself. But there’s a catch — you’ve gotta know how to use them!
Joomla and WordPress are both powerful, open source CMS/Blogging applications that give you the tools you need to create and manage your online presence.
But learning Joomla or WordPress can be a daunting task that requires hours, days, even weeks on the internet. You watch a video, read another tutorial, and then try to piece all the information together into a coherent whole. It can be overwhelming, especially if you have a job other than web design!
You can also attend training seminars and, if you work for a company that’s going to pay that $1500 fee for a 2 day training seminar, then by all means go to the seminar.
But if you are a small business owner or independent blogger, the cost of a seminar probably isn’t that appealing. And neither is spending weeks, even months, searching the web looking for answers.
Is there a better option?
How about this one — A one stop learning center where you can learn what you need to know about managing your Joomla or WordPress powered site.
Sounds better, doesn’t it.
Education is the best form of support
I’ve been using Joomla since it’s inception. Actually, I used Mambo for two years and then followed Joomla when it split off from Mambo. So I’m pretty intimate with the workings of a Joomla site. I’ve only been using WordPress for two years, but it’s much easier to learn than Joomla, and obviously there are some overlaps; my Joomla knowledge probably enabled me to learn WordPress more quickly.
For several years, I’ve also been teaching my web design clients how to manage their Joomla and WordPress powered sites. And it finally dawned on me that it would be more effective and more efficient to create a support area where my clients could access the information they need to manage their site. I teach the “how to” once (rather than for every client), record it, and then the client has access whenever he/she needs it.
Brilliant, simple, effective, and efficient! So why did it take me years to figure this one out?? Oh, well, guess the important thing is that I did finally figure this out.
So who’s this for?
And, although, I initially created this support area for my web design clients, membership is open to anyone who would like to learn how to manage a Joomla or WordPress powered site.
I am currently only offering access to the training library to my web design clients.
